Welcome to the Coach Courses page of Welland Soccer Club! As part of our commitment to developing soccer at all levels, we offer a range of coaching courses in partnership with Ontario Soccer. These courses are designed to equip aspiring and current coaches with the knowledge, skills, and certifications needed to foster player development, promote fair play, and contribute positively to the soccer community.
Available Courses
Grassroots Coaching Courses
Active Start, Fundamentals, and Learn to Train
- Target Audience: Coaches of players aged 4-12.
- Focus: These introductory courses cover the essentials of coaching young players, emphasizing fun, engagement, and basic skill development.
- Duration: 4-7 hours (varies by course).
C-License Certification
Provincial and National C-License
- Target Audience: Coaches looking to advance their coaching career and work with competitive teams.
- Focus: This certification dives deeper into player development, coaching methodology, and the tactical aspects of the game.
- Duration: 40 hours, including both in-person and online components.
Goalkeeping Coach Certification
Level 1 & Level 2 Goalkeeping Courses
- Target Audience: Coaches specifically interested in goalkeeping techniques and training goalkeepers.
- Focus: From fundamental skills to advanced techniques, these courses cover all aspects of goalkeeping coaching.
- Duration: 16 hours (Level 1) and 20 hours (Level 2).
Soccer for Life
Coaching Teenage and Adult Players
- Target Audience: Coaches working with players aged 13 and above.
- Focus: Addresses the transition from youth to adult soccer, focusing on long-term player development and competitive play.
- Duration: 14 hours.
