Sarah Haist, from Welland, ON, is the Lead Female Goalkeeper Coach at Welland Soccer Club, where she is dedicated to developing the next generation of top female goalkeepers. A passionate supporter of the Canadian Women’s National Team, Sarah draws inspiration from her favorite player, Sabrina D’Angelo. Her love for soccer began at a young age, playing house league on her older sister’s team—a memory that continues to fuel her passion for the game.
Sarah brings a wealth of experience to her coaching role, having played at various competitive levels, including Hamilton Regional soccer for two years, Niagara Regional soccer for one year, and Niagara OPDL soccer for two years. Currently, she is a goalkeeper in Roma League 2, where she has been recognized twice as part of the League 2 Team of the Week. In addition to her playing experience, Sarah has been assisting with goalkeeper training for the past two years, sharing her knowledge and skills with aspiring goalkeepers.
Beyond soccer, Sarah is also pursuing a career as a paramedic, demonstrating her commitment to helping others both on and off the field. Her combination of playing experience, coaching expertise, and dedication to personal growth makes Sarah an invaluable asset to the Welland Soccer Club.
