This year, the Welland Soccer Club is proud to present the much-anticipated 4th annual Welland Wizards Rose Festival and Tournament, set to be the highlight of our soccer calendar! With teams converging from across the region, this event promises not only competitive soccer action but also a celebration of community and sport. Here’s everything you need to know about this can’t-miss tournament.

Date & Location: Join us June 14-16 at Youngs Sportsplex in Welland, where the best of youth soccer talent will showcase their skills on the pitch. The Wizards Rose Festival & Tournament offers a unique blend of competitive soccer, family-friendly entertainment, and community spirit, all set against the backdrop of our beautiful facilities.
For the Love of Soccer
The Welland Wizards Rose Festival and Tournament will be played on June 14th, 15th and 16th at the Youngs Sportsplex. The Friday, June 14th evening kickoff will see the older age groups (U13 to U18 Boys and Girls divisions) take the pitch for their opening games. The U13 to U18s will continue their tournament play on both Saturday and Sunday, with championship games wrapping up on Sunday afternoon. Saturday, June 15th will see the U8 to U12 Boys divisions as well as the U8 girls play their games. Sunday, June 16th belongs to the girls’ divisions with U9 to U12 competing at the Sportsplex.
Tournament Features:
- Guaranteed Games: Each team in the U13 to U18 divisions will play at least 3 games (2 x 25 minute halves); each team in the U8 to U12 divisions will be playing at least 2 games with a minimum team playing time of 80 minutes
- Top-Quality Facilities: Matches are played across 4 full-sized turf fields and 2 well-maintained grass fields ensuring a high-quality playing experience at a centralized location.
- Certified Officials: All games are overseen by certified referees, guaranteeing fairness and adherence to soccer rules.
- Prizes and Awards: Trophies and medals are up for grabs for top-performing teams and players, recognizing skill, sportsmanship, and teamwork.

Beyond the matches, the Wizards Rose Festival & Tournament is a celebration of our local soccer community. Attendees can enjoy:
- Food & Refreshments: Savor delicious eats and treats from local vendors, keeping you fueled throughout the event.
- Awards & Recognition: Celebrate the spirit of competition with awards for top-performing teams and standout players.
Calling All Teams!
- Team Registration: Team coaches or managers can register their teams through our online registration portal (wizardssoccer.powerupsports.com). $300 for U8 to U12; $575 for U13 to U18
- Fees and Deadlines: Find detailed information on registration fees, deadlines, and tournament rules on our website.
- Roster Submission: Teams must submit their final rosters by the specified deadline.
- Travel Permit: Teams travelling from outside of Niagara are welcome to take part. We will require the appropriate travel permit from your district association in advance of the tournament date.
